"no, mom, i am not using steroids"

so i was eating dinner with my parents a while back, and my mother asks me if i am using steroids. i was flabbergasted that she would ask such a question -- mean, does she really think i am that stupid? maybe she has seen one too many of those "parents: the anit-drug" commercials. i mean, come on -- i am hardly buff. i'm finally starting to see some results in my arms, though, and i think that combined with the tight shirt i was wearing just made me look a little bigger. but geez -- steroids??

the weekend turned out surprisingly well, considering i was stuck in macon. grandma was up, so we had a nice visit friday night followed by several games of 500. slept in saturday then helped dad in the yard all afternoon, and then james and chrissy stopped by for a nice visit on their way back from a cruise. that evening, sarah took me to the pier one because she had seen some cute gay boys working there and she wanted me to check them out, but alas, only old white women were working when we went in. after dinner at the rookery downtown and ogling a cute hipster who reminded me of devin, we hit the mall -- and both express and the gap were having good sales. got some tight short-sleeve pullovers from express for 60 percent off, and a pair of low-rise boot-cut jeans at the gap for half price. the jeans may be a little too tight, but whatever.

and then sunday afternoon, i learned out to waterski with horace and two of his friends. horace was a very good teacher, and after several ill-fated attempts, i managed to get up and stay up. a little sore today, but the soreness only adds to the sense of accomplishment.
