thursday was industry appreciation day, an event sponsored by the chamber of commerce to recognize local business and industry. there's a big golf tournament associated with it each year, and i got roped into playing for the courier herald. as evidenced by the photo, we were not very serious -- we broke out the beer before teeing off on the first hole. i actually stopped playing after about 12 holes (or a six pack, depending on how you are counting). fortunately, it was a best ball tourament -- but even with that benefit, we shot a 79. ah, well. we had a good time, and that's all that matters.
