bronzed

i spent $85 at the grocery store last night. $85!! i think that is a new record for me, unless i was buying lots of food for a big event or something. so looked back at the receipt, and most of the things were your normal $2 and $3 grocery items... but $8 here for contact lens solution and $8 there for sunless tanner and $20 for the new book by david sedaris which kroger randomly had on sale... it all ads up.

so yeah, one of my colleagues makes regular visits to the tanning bed. we keep trying to tell her how bad that is for her skin (premature aging, cancer risk, etc) but she keeps on going. but then, i have a nasty habit of exposing my own skin to the sun whenever i get a chance, "just to get a little color." well, sun exposure has now been linked to skin cancer as definitively as smoking has been linked to lung cancer. and sunless tanners have come a long way in the last few years... gone is that fake-looking orange glow -- the new products look quite natural.

I'm with Christina. I have crazy mad horrible farmer's tan lines already this summer, but I decided that I don't care. :)
