computer neck

one of my editors is on vacation, i'm still at work laying out his paper and i've been stricken with computer neck for the last several hours. it's that achy tightness running between the base of my neck, the top of my back and my right shoulder. i think a combination of stress and sitting at a computer for too long do it to me -- it used to happen every wednesday night at the technique. or maybe it has something to do with it being wednesday. except 'nique deadlines were much more fun than this, because there were interesting people around. tonight, it's just me and the soundtrack to the rocky horror picture show.

i made a blueberry crisp this morning with some berries brylyn brought to the office yesterday; the newsroom ate the whole pan within ten minutes. i made a smaller one for myself two days ago with some blueberries my parents picked. mmm... nothing like a good blueberry crisp. i also made an excellent batch of egg salad yesterday. like a lot of things, egg salad is hit or miss since i don't go by a recipe. making it brought back memories how of my uncle ken used to hate the smell of hard-boiled eggs. when i'd make egg salad at their house, he would open up all the widows, turn on the fans and light some incense. he had a tendency to be melodramatic.
