white wedding

so i've had a lot of friends getting married lately. i guess we're just at that age when, well, that's what you do. except for people like me who won't be getting married any time soon because it's not legal in the state of georgia. this weekend my friend elizabeth, one of the few folks from high school with whom i am still in touch, got married.

the wedding itself was one of the nicest i've been to -- the bride and groom are both musicians, so of course the music was spectacular. the groom was the leader of a men's a capella group at emory several years ago; most of his groomsmen were from that group and they sang during the ceremony. bronson and i, both friends of the bride, served as ushers, but it was really cool spending time with the groom and his friends, too. the emory gang had all gone on to different stuff -- several were doctors, and only a few still lived in atlanta. they had not performed together for years. but all weekend they would randomly form a circle and start singing their old repertoire. and they still remembered their parts and their words. and they sounded GOOD. i used to enjoy listening to sympathetic vibrations, the men's a cappela group at tech, but these guys were even better.

anyway, it was nice to see old friends and acquantances, some of whom i had not seen in nearly a decade. that's brian, elizabeth, bronson and me in the picture. i'll put more in my gallery after ashley sends me copies of her pictures.
